President Obama concluded a day of partisan clashes at the White House’s made-for-TV health care summit by vowing to pass the overhaul with or without Republicans, signaling his willingness to force the bill through Congress using controversial tactics. SAN’A, Yemen — Yemeni forces raided an al Qaeda hideout and set off a gunbattle Wednesday as the government vowed to eliminate the group that claimed it was behind the Christmas bombing attempt on a U.S. airliner. The fighting took place in an al Qaeda stronghold in western Yemen that served as a safe haven for most of the attackers of the U.S. Embassy in 2008, killing 10 Yemeni guards and four civilians.
