This message by Larry Arnn is so clear in pointing to the culprit in our society and government for our downward spiral in almost every area - self love. Jesus said: "If anyone would follow me they must first deny themselves..." Without this brake upon the human nature a grab-fest will ensue as self seeks all it can get for itself...not counting the cost...eventually running amok. And here we are.

I have a quote taped to my computer screen that reads,"If there is no absolute by which to judge society, society is absolute."
As a society turns away from a constitution were their rights come from a loving creator and place their trust in the state, they digress from streamlined simplicity to regulatory chaos. Government cannot get their powers except it be given or taken from the governed. The extraction begins slowly as citizen's hand over their rights and duties to the state, but as the bureaucracy becomes larger and stronger it switches from soft to hard tyranny.
We see this evident in the current health care bill, thousands of pages that lawyers and economists cannot easily explain, compaired to the US Constitution that founded our great nation and any citizen can easily read and place in his pocket.
